The Residue of Anti-Christianity
Time: late 1900s and early 2000s
Anti-Christianity still lingers like an unsightly stain in certain decaying communities. Consider Sam Harris and Christopher Hitchens and the brilliant illuminating Brights movement.
Here’s Sam Harris showing intolerance: “Some propositions are so dangerous that it may be ethical to kill people for believing them.” Here’s Harris exhibiting his characteristic primitive ethnic hatred and bloodlust: "What will we do if an Islamist regime, which grows dewy-eyed at the mere mention of paradise, ever acquires long-range nuclear weaponry? If history is any guide, we will not be sure about where the offending warheads are or what their state of readiness is, and so we will be unable to rely on targeted, conventional weapons to destroy them. In such a situation, the only thing likely to ensure our survival may be a nuclear first strike of our own.” Atheist leaders enjoy demonizing all the world’s cultures (but atheism) as a prelude to their extermination.
Here’s the late Christopher Hitchens opining on the war in Afghanistan: “It is impossible to compromise with the proponents of sacrificial killing of civilians, the disseminators of anti-Semitic filth, the violators of women and the cheerful murderers of children. It is also impossible to compromise with the stone-faced propagandists for Bronze Age morality: morons and philistines who hate Darwin and Einstein and who managed, during their brief rule in Afghanistan, to ban and to erase music and art while cultivating the skills of germ warfare. If they would do that to Afghans, what might they not have in mind for us? In confronting such people, the crucial thing is to be willing and able, if not in fact eager, to kill them without pity before they can get started.” Hitchens wants to execute those who have sinned against secularism. He also proclaimed: “I don't think the war in Afghanistan was ruthlessly enough waged.” Whenever sagging, bloated gas-bag Hitchens loomed into view you’d be sure to see savage attacks released upon the poor.
Somehow the interminable series of witticisms Hitchens produced did not compensate for his heartfelt longing to get others to kill those he disagreed with (while he enjoyed the buffet at a safe distance). Just as King Frederick’s French poetry (polished by his supporter Voltaire) did not compensate for the many wars he started.
The Brights movement, which began in 2003, is associated with people like Richard Dawkins and Daniel Dennett and Steven Pinker. Even Hitchens scoffed at the “cringe-making proposal that atheists should conceitedly nominate themselves to be called brights.” We know anti-Christians are wonderful because they tell us so themselves at every opportunity.
Where else can we find modern anti-Christians? We can probe dark and damp recesses of the internet, we can follow oversweet odors seeping from corporate office towers. We can examine dim celebrities and the PC thought police. Foul nests of anti-Christians are often uncovered in Hollywood and academia. We can look at the few remaining Communist countries, some of which still try to terrorize their people into submitting to atheism. We can also investigate the abortion industry. The abortion industry works to reduce what the elite considers inconvenient populations: women, minorities, and the handicapped. The industry misinforms women to manipulate their decision.
Conclusion
Why is the record of predatory anti-Christian elites so uniquely awful?
They can reject Jesus' teachings of kindness and forgiveness. Privileged white male atheists serve their class interests by discarding traditional moral restraints. The bleak atheist faith is unpopular. Atheists are at odds with the common people. To maintain their privileges atheist elites must attack the theist majority. Many atheists even seem to feel that somehow their anti-religious bigotry justifies their superior position. Materialists believe humans are just sacks of chemicals. We are like machines or insects, our thoughts are just secretions of the brain. If so reduced, why should we possess value or rights?
Harvey Weinstein and Joy Behar and Schopenhauer, Ayn Rand and Andre Gide and Anton LaVey, aristocrats like Baron d'Holbach and Bertrand Russell and the Marquis de Sade, both James Watson and Francis Crick, hyper-nationalists like David Ben-Gurion and Georges Clemenceau and Slobodon Milosevic, Simone de Beauvoir and G.B. Shaw and Jack Kevorkian and Noam Chomsky and Mark Zuckerberg and Peter Singer and Sigmund Freud and Andrea Dworkin and Madalyn Murray O'Hair – these anti-Christians have not always elevated nor brightened our lives.

Anti-Christians seem to feel they are superior due to their (supposed) exclusive possession of reason. Do they confuse a sense of entitlement with rational thought? Anti-Christians have devalued reason and science.
The claim that scientism is true is not itself a scientific claim, not something that can be established using scientific methods. Positivism as a credible intellectual position went out with the horse and buggy. Yet many troubled anti-Christian adolescent boys on the internet are devoted to these reductionist philosophies. These predictable & pimply propagandists fill up countless webpages: sharing long-discredited caricatures of religious folk and thoughtfully providing detailed exposition regarding how they will get back at their selfish Christian mother for making them clean their room came to consider Christianity untenable intellectually. If the reductionist world view lacks a foundation, reductionism becomes merely faith-based pessimism.
“When a man stops believing in God he doesn’t then believe in nothing, he believes in anything.” The various God substitutes (conspiracy theories, superstitions, hedonism, the clan, the State, the Fearless Leader, etc.) never measure up to the God of mercy. Devotion to these idols seems to grow fiercer as their deficiencies become more and more obvious.
We should recognize the danger of dogmatic, predatory, decadent, and deranged anti-Christian elites.
